The Bird Rest Shelf is an excellent addition to any cage 24"x22" or larger. The radius is 12". It can be used in any manufacturer's cage, not just an Avian Adventures cage. The Bird Rest Shelf can give the bird an additional "level" or "floor" to their cage, and can be used to hold anything that your bird wants to play with that you do not want to hang from your cage - like pine cones, old magazines to chew on, toilet paper; you name it! While the Bird Rest Shelf is a fantastic enhancement to any healthy bird's living environment, it is also ideal for birds that have perching difficulties. Some birds have crippled, arthritic, or young feet and it is best if they do not always keep their feet in the "perch-holding" position. The Bird Rest Shelf, with its flat bards, allows the bird to stand comfortably with a flat foot. The Bird Rest Shelf can also be a good alternative for birds that fall off their perches while asleep or for young birds that are prone to falling because they are not yet as steady afoot as an adult bird. The Bird Rest Shelf can be a safer rest area for them while they are in their cage, minimizing potential injury if they inadvertently fall. The Bird Rest Shelf is a must have for all bird cages! |
